Black Belt Community Fairs
Background and Strategy:
Increased attention, understanding, resources, and actions regarding existing knowledge gaps for children, teens, and adults with sustained focus on providing basic needs prior to and in conjunction with literacy.
To conduct an all-day activity fair in all nine Black Belt counties (Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, and Tuscaloosa) that promotes LCWA direct services to the community. Fairs will be conducted in identified cities with support from area nonprofits, churches, farmers, and libraries.
To increase awareness of LCWA services, understanding of literacy, and use of resources in coverage area, while building profile of community needs.
